Native element of yellow color, flammable (produces a poisonous gas) and intense odor, often occurs in the form of fouling or powdery masses, although it can also produce attractive crystals. With volcanic origin, in fumaroles but mainly in sedimentary deposits, due to the reduction of sulfates (ex: gypsum). It is also produced from Pyrite, although most of the world production comes from hydrocarbon exploration. It has many applications in the chemical industry, agriculture, explosives, paints, paper, rubber, etc.
