- Colombianite is a type of volcanic glass (Obsidian), with a nodular and rough appearance, found almost exclusively in the Cauca region of Colombia. Although it is frequently marketed in the crystal market as a tectite (glass formed by meteorite impact), geological studies confirm that it is a Pseudotectite. In fact, it is an extremely ancient form of Obsidian, estimated to be about 30 million years old.
